SANE 2004

On Sept 30, we were shocked to hear that Hans Bakker died in a car accident on his way back from Paris to Amsterdam. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.

Technology is advancing, the systems administration profession is changing rapidly, and you have to master new skills to keep apace. At the 4^th International SANE (System Administration and Network Engineering) technical conference and tutorial tracks you'll find a wealth of opportunities to meet other system administrators and network (security) professionals with similar interests, while attending a program that brings you the latest in tools, techniques, security and networking. You can learn from tutorials, refereed papers and invited talks.

The official language at the conference will be English. The conference will be located at the Amsterdam RAI Congress Centre.

On Monday, September 27, the Dutch (trade) unions are planning industrial actions. This may result in public transport in Amsterdam being delayed or partly unavailable during the day. If you arrive on Monday and travel from outside Amsterdam, using the train to railway station "Amsterdam RAI" is recommended. It is at walking distance from the SANE conference center.
update: given the latest news: local transportation (bus, tram) in Amsterdam will very likely be unavailable on Monday (from early morning till ???). Trains to Amsterdam RAI station will run. If you travel by car, expect longer traffic jams on the A1, A2, A4 and Ring A10 as well.
