Dealing with Junk E-mail: Analysis and Techniques

E-mail spam is a plague. It aggravates users, wastes time, and potentially exposes you or your organization to legal liability. Stopping spam is a monumental challenge which is aggravated by continually improving spam software.

This talk will clarify the issues surrounding spam and show some of the tactics that are being used to stop it. It will include examples of techniques used to detect spam and show step-by-step procedures for implementation of techniques to reduce your spam-caused aggravation by an order of magnitude.

Both system administrators and programmers who might be charged with find a solution to the junk e-mail program will enjoy this talk. Non-technical users who are unaware of the extent of unsolicited e-mail will be amazed at the statistics presented.
